Education and Studies
1967-68 Foundation Course in Art and Design. High Wycombe College of Technology and Design.
1968-71 Attended Wimbledon School of Art. Fine Art – Painting. Dip. AD in Art and Design. Hons Advanced course in Printmaking at Wimbledon School of Art. Lithography, editioning of work with offset presses.
1973-74 Commonwealth Scholarship to India. MS University of Baroda. To study Indian miniature painting. Lithography on stone.
1975-76 Milton Keynes College of Education. Certificate of Education.
1976 Fuchs Academy Reichenau, Austria. Studied the Old Masters mixed technique under Ernst Fuchs. Oil and egg tempera on gesso panels.
Work Experience
1971-72 Painted and exhibited in London with other artists
1976 Lived in Heidelberg where I was commissioned to set up and run an Etching and Lithography workshop for German artists.
1977-80 Art Tutor at Bell School of English. Taught painting, drawing and Photography.
1980-85 Professional Photographer for PR and AD agencies.
1985-94 Moved to Spain and rediscovered my painting. Living in the “Albaizin” of Granada the paintings were about “The Labyrinth” and the predicament of being in changing perspectives and light.
Window to nowhere, A door in the Labyrinth, Cul de sac (There’s no turning back), Going up or down? Are titles of paintings that question the observer’s view?
1994-02 Returned to UK and settled in Plymouth. While retaining the theme of “The Labyrinth” the work went through changes and is more abstract and expressionistic. Exhibitions in Plymouth and London
2002- Moved to Bristol to find studio and continue painting.
2005-15 Worked at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery.
